# A Career Is Not a CV

_Published 2026-09-06._

A CV is good at proving that a role existed. It is less good at showing how a person thinks.

Jamal Najem’s experience crossed telecom, fintech, and enterprise transformation. Reducing that history to a list of titles would have been accurate and still wrong. The site needed to let a visitor understand the professional record, the personal point of view, and the work available now.

## Two rooms, one identity

The profile carries transformation leadership. About carries the person, the craft, and the growth behind that work. Services and thought leadership attach to both without collapsing them into one long bio.

That separation keeps the content honest. A career milestone is not automatically a service. A personal story is not a résumé bullet.

The [Jamal Najem case study](/work/jamal-najem) describes the resulting map: profile, career, About, services, writing, and WhatsApp contact. Navigation stays thin so photography and type can carry the first impression.

The site cannot only explain who someone was. It needs a sensible way to continue the conversation. Contact is part of the architecture rather than a small icon hidden in the header.

The result is a personal brand site that behaves more like an editorial system than a formatted CV. The career remains visible, but it is allowed to have shape.
